Description:
The donek is a diving pigeon breed which is commonly bred in the Balkans, especially in Greece, Turkey and North Macedonia, and in diaspora communities worldwide.
The donek is a diving breed which spins as it dives down, these spins vary in form with common styles being, wide, tight, plate style, ball style and many others. As like the other diving breeds, Doneks need to be signalled to dive, with either droppers, a target, or a call.
In terms of looks, they are a medium sized bird with long beaks and large tails. They are usually Baldhead colored (white head, primary flights, &
tail, with other base colors), or other colours such as black, white, blue bar, Ash red bar, recessive red, gazzi, and pied. Doneks can be either clean or grouse legged.
